storytelling on purpose
About
Murahi responds to the current sociopolitical disquiet with fiery activity.
Murahi is seeking to tell stories that highlight the power of partnership, protection and participation.
We are Murdoch Ngahau and Amber Hammill, friends and colleagues who fucking hate working together but can't seem to stop it. Send help. Or projects.
Murdoch Ngahau
Ko Putauaki te Maunga
Ko Rangitaiki te Awa
Ko Mataatua te Waka
Ko Kokohinau te Marae
Ko Te Whānau a Apanui rāua ko Ngāti Awa ngā iwi
Ko Murdoch Ngahau ahau.
Murdoch Ngahau is a phantom menace with the heart of a DJ, the soul of a storyteller, and the side-eye of a seasoned strategist. Born under the sign of Capricorn and raised on basslines and banter, he’s danced, shaded, and broadcast his way through kaupapa Māori, community, and commercial media for over 20 years.
Part comms ninja, part iwi whisperer, full-time advocate for meaningful kōrero (and well-timed sarcasm), Murdoch blends mātauranga, Tikanga Māori, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Whether he’s building campaigns, mentoring Māori media minds, or consulting on political glow-ups, he does it all with style, wit, and a generous helping of flair.
If there’s a kaupapa to back, a mic to pass, or a room to read (and quietly roast), chances are—Murdoch’s already on it.
Amber Hammill
